We will be hosting a pre-tryout Zoom a few days in advance (date/time tbd) to discuss the club, tryouts, the Spring season and any questions you may have. The link to the Zoom meeting will be emailed to all registered participants; the meeting will also be recorded and sent out afterwards to all registrants.
We will hold tryouts for players born 2017 and older. Players born 2018 and younger should register for our Junior Academy in Fall and Spring HERE.
Tryouts are held by age group; it is recommended that players attend both sessions when possible for a more accurate evaluation:
May 14 and May 16 at Marlin Park, 502 Marlin Drive, Redwood Shores
4:00-5:00pm Boys born 2017, and Girls born 2016-7
5:00-6:00pm Boys born 2016, and Girls born 2014-5
6:00-7:00pm Boys born 2014-5
Please bring regular soccer clothing including shin guards and cleats, a ball and water.
Players born 2007-2013 should simply register and we will contact you to attend 1-2 team practices as a tryout.
Fall 2024 practices will begin the week of August 12th.

Club Tryouts
Club tryouts are held twice yearly:
- in May for all players, and
- in November for players not affiliated with another club.
If you are new to competitive club soccer or have moved from outside the area and would like
to join a team for the Spring season your child can be evaluated at our November tryout.
Tryout Information
It is recommended that a player attend both dates of our tryouts, since the more times a player is evaluated the more accurate the evaluation will be. Our club uses tryouts to fill open roster spots on current teams and add new teams to the club as appropriate.
Current players do not need to attend the tryouts (certain teams/players may be asked by the DoC to help during the tryouts). Players should bring water, soccer cleats, shin guards (required) and a ball and arrive 15 minutes before the scheduled start time. Prior to the first tryout date there will be a Zoom orientation for parents. The orientation is for parents new to Belmont United and will cover tryout questions and general information about the season.
Typical Tryout Session
(Players grouped by age and gender)
00-10 mins Ball-based warm-up
10-35 mins 1v1 games and/or shooting games
35-60 mins Small-sided scrimmage
Decisions on selection and acceptance of players are made solely by the coaching staff and BUSC’s Director of Coaching. After evaluation, players may be assigned to a team based on the best fit for the player's developmental growth or potential.
